A wildlife photography tour and workshop in wonderful Sri Lanka, one of the most biodiverse countries on the planet. Of the 91 mammal species found in Sri Lanka, leopards, Asian elephants, sloth bear, sambar deer and wild buffaloes will be highlights. Bird life is the jewel in Sri Lanka’s crown with species such as Sri Lankan Blue Magpie, Sri Lankan Grey Hornbill, Malabar Pied Hornbill, Crested Serpent Eagle, three species of Kingfishers, Little Bee-eater, Emerald Dove and more. 

TOUR DATES: MARCH 18 - 27, 2019
LOCATION: Sinharaja Forest Reserve, Yala National Park & Wilpattu National Park
PRICE: $4500.00 AUD per person (twin share). Single Supplement: $500 AUD
PAYMENT: Payment is via EFT transfer via online banking or contact Craig to make alternative arrangements.
RESERVE A PLACE: Deposits of $1000 per person accepted to reserve a place (non-refundable within 60 days of tour commencing).


The tour price includes expert local guiding and daily photography instruction from Craig and Nic, travel within Sri Lanka for the duration of the tour (March 18 - 27), all accommodation and supplied meals (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner), all transport within Sri Lanka from the pick-up in Colombo on March 18 until the drop-off on March 27, and all entry fees to parks included in the tour itinerary.


The tour price does not include international flights to and from Sri Lanka, accommodation in Sri Lanka prior to or after the tour, extra meals other than those included as above, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages or expenses of a personal nature (e.g snacks, internet, laundry, travel insurance, tips etc.) 


Craig Greer

Craig is based in Adelaide where he runs bird and wildlife photography workshops. His interest in wildlife goes back to his childhood growing up in the bush in Victoria and Tasmania.

In recent years, Craig has combined his love of nature, wildlife and photography and has spent countless hours photographing a diverse range of animal species, particularly bird life, from Adelaide to Alice Springs and Malaysia to Bruny Island.

Craig has a background in teaching, training and communications and his photos have appeared in field guides and conservation publications.



Nicolas Rakotopare

Originally from Madagascar, Nicolas is an ecologist and professional wildlife photographer and film-maker based in SE Queensland. He has filmed wildlife throughout South-East Asia and the sub-continent, including Sri Lanka.

Nicolas is an excellent communicator and enjoys sharing both his ecological and technical knowledge with others. 

Nicolas has extensive experience capturing beautiful wildlife images and video which is used by a number of organisations to promote important conservation outcomes for engangered species.

Day 2. Tues 19 Mar 19 Photographing birds, reptiles and more in Sinharaja Forest Reserve. Accom: Martin’s Lodge
Day 3. Weds 20 Mar '19 More bird and reptile photography with a focus on macro subjects. Accom: Martin’s Lodge
Day 4. Thurs 21 Mar '19 Sinharaja to Yala. Afternoon in Yala National Park. Accom: Hibiscus Garden Hotel, Tissamaharama
Day 5. Fri 22 Mar '19 Full day Safari in Yala NP targeting leopards, elephants and more. Accom: Hibiscus Garden Hotel
Day 6. Sat 23 Mar '19  Full day Safari in Yala NP targetting leopards and more. Accom: Hibiscus Garden Hotel
Day 7. Sun 24 Mar '19  Morning Safari in Yala NP then travel to Wilpattu NP. Accom: Wilpattu Teal Cottage

In the event you book and need to cancel your tour the following refund policy applies:

Full Refund: A full refund can only be provided if the tour is cancelled 60 or more days prior to tour commencing.

Partial refund: A partial refund of 50% will be provided if the tour is cancelled between 30 and 60 days prior to tour commencing.

No refund will be provided for cancellations within 30 days of the tour commencement date.
